Exciting times indeed.  This Wednesday is my debut as DM, and I’ve got some research to do tonight.  Tomorrow after work I plan on purchasing a sheet of dry erase backing, or a large white canvas to start with so I can create the fog of war effect.  I want to divide the areas beforehand so I can have a place to not only draw the map but provide everyone dice and their own private desktop areas.  The middle you say?  That is the place of maps.  I can cut the middle sheet out when we are done, then place a new sheet when we area to partay!

In the future I would like to expand that to include trees that you can remove so I can later add stryofoam and fabric landscapes drawn in the style of those cool flat distance maps.  Top down grid style.  I could even go so far as to save maps of towns for later use.  It’s been a long time since I’ve been this excited.  Two projects with other people are being started, and they both intersect with a new friend.  You’ll get to know him in due time.

I’ve got some work to do on it tonight actually.  There’s a lot to be done, but all in due time.

Good luck and success on all your projects!
